This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Position PurposeThe Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing all aspects of Bakery Department operations to achieve sales, profitability, customer service, and operational objectives. This position assists with team leadership, product production, merchandising, inventory management, food safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation throughout the department.Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment OperationsAssist in managing daily Bakery Department operations.Ensure bakery products are properly prepared, packaged, stocked, rotated, and displayed.Maintain product quality, freshness, and presentation standards.Assist with ordering, inventory management, and shrink control.Ensure pricing, signage, and promotional displays are accurate and executed according to company standards.Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness.Customer ServiceDeliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience.Assist customers with product selection, custom cake orders, special requests, and product information.Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.Promote bakery items, seasonal products, and department programs.Build customer loyalty through product knowledge and service excellence.Leadership and Team DevelopmentAssist with hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching department associates.Provide daily direction and support to team members.Help develop schedules that support customer service and production needs.Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.Reinforce company policies, procedures, and customer service expectations.Food Safety and ComplianceEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.Monitor proper handling, preparation, labeling, storage, and rotation of bakery products.Maintain clean and sanitary preparation, production, storage, and sales areas.Ensure associates follow proper personal hygiene and food-handling practices.Identify and address food safety, sanitation, or workplace safety concerns.Merchandising and InventoryMaintain attractive, organized, and fully stocked bakery displays.Assist with production planning to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.Monitor inventory levels and communicate product and supply needs.Support promotional, seasonal, and merchandising initiatives.Follow proper rotation and date-control procedures to maintain freshness and reduce shrink.Management SupportSupport the Bakery Manager in achieving department sales, productivity, shrink, and operational goals.Assist with monitoring department conditions and adjusting priorities based on business needs.Communicate operational, staffing, product, and customer concerns to appropriate leadership.Assume department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Bakery Manager.Perform additional duties as assigned based on department and store needs.We also provide a variety of benefits including:Competitive wages paid weeklyAccess to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with StreamAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
