Position Details: This position is based on a 183 day calendar during the school year, 5 days per week and 6.75 hours per day.

Salary: Year Hourly Rate 1 $17.06 2 $17.87 3 $18.70 4 $19.51 5 $20.33 6 $20.94 7 $21.57 8 $22.18 9 $22.78 10 $23.41 11 $24.02 12 $24.57 Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked 120 days in a school year. All new employee's start on year 1.

Education Requirements: Completion of the Child Development Associate Certificate and/or completion of an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education required; Or Complete required online professional development within 60 days of employment. This position does require an additional certification of a CDA. If you are interested in the position but do not have your CDA, EVSC will financially support employees in achieving their CDA while working in the role. Completion of the CDA must be performed within one year of employment.

Additional Requirements: Prior to employment, applicants must complete the following: National criminal background check, including fingerprints, and Child Protective Index check Physical, TB Test and Drug Screen Online training for: Child Abuse and Neglect, Foundations, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Safe Sleep

Benefits: EVSC offers four (4) Anthem medical insurance plans. Single medical, dental and vision insurance are provided with this position. Employees may pay the additional cost to add family members. If elected, insurance coverage begins the first of the month following the successful completion of a 30-day probationary period. Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use any of the three EVSC Health & Wellness Centers. The health clinics provide primary care services, generic prescription medications, physicals, health screenings, and labs; all at NO COST to the employee or covered family member. EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate. This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity. EVSC offers a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters.

Summary: Assist teachers in the classroom or in resource settings with daily activities and student management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. Assist teacher in routine classroom operation by working with students. Prepare planned instructional materials, attendance reports and class reports. Supervise students involved in non classroom activities; recess, lunch, room transitions, etc. Implement/follow teacher instructions of classroom procedures. Make appropriate referrals when teacher is not readily available. Assist with clerical duties such as inventory, bulletin boards, collecting money, etc. Demonstrate an understanding of students' unique needs. Keep records, write lessons on the board, support students' work. Assist with loading and unloading of students on buses. In specific classes, will feed, toilet, and manage self-care needs. Responsibilities may include non-medical procedures concerning personal hygiene of the students in addition to g-tube feedings. While employees will work in an assigned category, employees shall be required to support the needs of all students when necessary. Maintain regular attendance.

Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and board of school trustees policies. In specific program areas, other skills may be required, i.e., brailling skills in vision area, interpreting skills in hearing area.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Completion of the Child Development Associate Certificate and/or completion of an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education required; Or two years of study in an institution of higher education or an associate's degree or higher with a willingness to complete the CDA certification. Previous experience with students with disabilities is not essential but helpful.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, textbooks, and government regulations. Ability to write reports and general correspondence. Ability, both orally and in writing, to present information effectively and respond appropriately to questions and concerns from individuals and groups of educators, administrators, parents, students, and the general public. Ability always to communicate using correct grammar.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to understand abstract and concrete variables. Ability to use available information and develop realistic long-term and short-term plans for curricular goals.
